Played at Hexham Golf Club against a background of beautiful rolling landscape and on semi green fairways, day one against the South produced three dramatic matches during the day to finish the foursomes all square. With a comfortable win by Julie Brown and newcomer Tracey Williamson in the morning and another win from Julie in the afternoon, we lost 3½ to 5½ at the end of the day.

Day 2 was another beautiful day, the morning gave us one win against the North in the foursomes (Sue Spencer and Debbie Warren). The afternoon produced a number of thrilling matches with all six matches up halfway through. The North battled back and the final result was a loss 3½ to 5½, with Mary Maclaren and Tracey Williamson wining and a half from Sue Spencer.

On day 3, we set our goals high and won 2 points in the foursomes from Catrin Russell and Carol Wild and Julie and Tracey. The afternoon produced a number of exciting matches with Tracey winning 6/4 and also a win from Sue Spencer but in the end Scotland prevailed winning 5 - 4 overall.
Congratulations to all the team who played so well and produced some wonderful golf - over the three days there were many matches that finished on the 18th - but were pipped at the end.Tracey Williamson and Catrin Russell were awarded team colours.
