Midland Senior Women's Golf Association

BeestonClub21 Teams gathered at Beeston Fields in Nottinghamshire on 28th June; a sunny and warm day. The Manger and Club along with the Lady Captain, Felicity Britton, had been most helpful in the run up to the competition. The club had provided a half way house and this was most welcome especially on the warm day it turned out to be. Most ladies hadn’t played at the club before and all commented on what great condition the course was in and how well the course was presented. Thanks were passed on to the head greenkeeper and his staff.

The day was made more special by 2 holes in one. Immediate past captain Cindy Ireland scored hers on the 14th and immediate past president Liz Moverley, on the 8th. Liz was also in the winning team. Each were presented with a bottle of Prosecco. Scoring was tough but there were some good scores.

Due to a lower number of entries, the club agreed to lower the green fee from £1000-00 to £800-00. Ladies supported the raffle and £216-00 was taken. A donation of £80-00 was presented to the Lady Captain's charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind.
